Chromebook Care

Treat your device as you would any valuable electronic device.

  • Be gentle with the touchscreen (if equipped), keyboard, trackpad, and ports.

  • Don’t add stickers or markings to the device.

  • Keep food and drink away from the device.

  • Use a surge protector and unplug the device during electrical storms.

  • Protect from extreme temperatures

  • Do not lend your device to anyone.

  • Other individuals, including children, should not be allowed to use the device.

  • Report any damage to the Technology Department immediately.

  • Do not leave the A/C adapter behind when moving the device

  • Do not attempt to repair a damaged or malfunctioning laptop.

  • Do not attempt to upgrade the hardware or software.

  • Do not attempt to jailbreak the device.

  • Position the device on a safe surface, so it does not drop or fall.

  • Proper security is to be provided for the Chromebook at all times, including, but not limited to, the following:

    • Do not leave the laptop in an unlocked vehicle.

    • When not being used, store the device in a secure place.

    • Do not leave unattended in a car, an unlocked home, or in a public place.
